The Thoughts

This video was made as a wedding gift to Parrish and Kalee Stikeleather and was shown as a surprise at their Wedding Reception last night.

I love being surrounded by this kind of talent in Wilmington!

Leviticus

I just finished Leviticus. It wasn’t too dry of a read actually, but 19:27-28 is why everyone throws it out as not useful. I don’t understand it, but its in the bible, so I believe it. Other than those two verses, pretty much everyone would still agree the laws in it are good. And still, the law hasn’t changed and neither has the punishment, but Jesus paid it for us. My old justification for why tattoos and getting haircuts (ie 19:27-28) has been thrown out of the window after reading it in context. I really just don’t understand it, but if a haircut was a sin, why would I not feel convicted about it? Is the Holy Spirit not doing that anymore? Of course not, He does it all the time! There is obviously something I just don’t get. One thing I do know, Jesus is the Lamb and “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!”

Condemnation and Rejection, Redemption then Adoration

He is unclean

Twenty-Four and Nineteen

You are unclean

.

An eye for an eye

The bar is set too high

You will lose tonight

.

Comfort, Comfort He cries

Forty and Sixty-Five

In another bed you lie

.

Foretelling of truth

Rejection for pleasure

To what will you measure

.

His birth and death

Two, the Twenty-Three

To forgive you and me

.

New life is gained

The old is slain

To all who praise His name

.

Worthy is He to come

Five, then Twenty-One

Weep no more

.

His kingdom on earth

All given new birth

Joy is to come!

About three months ago, I blogged about how I wanted to start a prayer ministry (http://zachkolk.tumblr.com/post/38999631829/prayer). It was birthed out of me going to a worship night (called ps150). ps150 is a ministry that exists solely to give college age students an environment where they can worship God through music. Without Ceasing will be an environment to worship him through prayer. We will be praying for the needs of the people who come, for our city, our churches, and the church; as well as just lifting His name high.
It is my goal for Without Ceasing to be reoccurring; a ministry, not a night. The first one will be this Thursday, April 25 from 8:00-9:00PM. 4901 Pine St. is next-door neighbors to Winter Park Elementary School. If you come, please park in their parking lot and walk over, there will be signs or people showing you the way.
Anyone is welcome to come, please invite anyone you can to come.

@ZachDriftwood’s #Petheadz

Some say pets look like their owners, but one Canadian photographer has taken it to a new and creative extreme. In his series, #petheadz, Zachary Rose (@zachdriftwood) takes DSLR portraits of people’s pets and mashes them up with portraits of their owners by cleverly holding the camera in the foreground.

The series started as an exercise in creativity with his two roommates but quickly caught on. To date, Zach has taken 18 #petheadz portraits of people all over Toronto. (His mom even posed for a photo with her German shepherd.) The project is still on-going with a lengthy wait-list, and Zach is excited to continue meeting people—and pets—around the city as he keeps shooting.

Cuba… This two year old little boy had a chronic disease that stopped him from ever walking. We prayed a simple 10 second prayer and watched as he walked for the first time ever. Jesus is beyond outrageously good. More to come.

The Beautiful Colors of Easter Sunday

How does the rest of the world celebrate Easter? Explore photos from around the world by browsing these hashtags: #pascua, #Pâques, #Ostern, #Πάσχα, #Pasqua, #påsk and #пасха.

You may have noticed an uptick in brightly colored eggs and chocolate bunnies in your Instagram feed today. That’s because it is Easter Sunday!

Easter is one of the most important holidays on the Christian calendar. The New Testament of the Bible says that three days after Jesus was crucified, he rose from the dead. Jesus’s resurrection is the foundation of the Christian faith, symbolizing spiritual resurrection and God’s forgiveness of sin.

Of course, Easter also closely coincides with the beginning of spring in the northern hemisphere. Because of this, many symbols of spring—bunny rabbits, eggs and flowers—have come to be associated with the Easter holiday.

Share your own—and explore other people’s—colorful Easter photos through the #Easter hashtag!
